Oh boy. Finally finished. This project was at least a year in the making, and maybe more, I can't remember. I regained my faith in the home stretch, I love this so much, the colors, the imagery, how I didn't screw up in putting it all together.
And yes, you can put your weed in it. It comes apart. I'll post some more pictures later and I'll put it on etsy.
As you may have surmised, the two sides are night and day, the respective provinces of the Lady of Snakes and Hummingbird Warrior. It's a Mesoamerican myth, look it up if you're curious (google Huitzilopochtli).
On the day side we also have the lotus, the sword, the dragonfly, the apple, and the sun. On the night side, the moon, the circle, poppies, rowan, and the luna moth. Each image corresponds to an image on the other side. No I did not list them in order, because I am lazy.
I'm happy to talk about the symbolism, but honestly this was so stream of conscious, I would be hard-pressed to give a coherent answer.
Number of hours: One bajillion. Technique: Peyote stitch. Materials: Delica beads and fireline thread.
Edit: Oh my Lordy Lou, a daily deviation?! Thank you so much! I love all of you!
